boeing 787
There was a letter to the editor in Aviation Weekly that brought up something that I remember from My experience. I was an airline radio operatro many years ago and one thing that happened was that Lightning struck the Airplane. Anyway nothing happen ed to the Plane as it was made out of Alumin and of course the lightning just went around the metal outside. With the 787 made out non metal - what will happen if lightning strikes the Plane. Will they put bits of metal in the outside so that the lightning will travel outside the pllane. Or will the plane just become a big capaciter charged up to a few thousand volts and of course possibly the humans will fry. I know these are just silly questions I am asking in my mind. It is a thought. Don
