lEADERSHIP OF CORPORATIONS

In the December issue of Fortune there is a series of article about Leadership and developement of Corporate Leaders. I seriously wonder who they are kidding. They refuse to train or let lower level employees learn their job or learn to get promotion. The last job that I worked was in newspaper circulation and there was every intent to make employees stupid and not have any knowledge of the job that it required. Efficiency per the modern day seems to require ignorance and the blind following the the person in Charge. For instance the following situation came about and because of the way they were requiring typing on Computer terminals - people got Carple Tunnel. Instead of letting the operator type in the address of the custimer so that the knowledge of the delivery route could be learn, they required the typing in of the Telephone Number and agree the address was there but the effort of typing in the address impresses the operator about the route and possible troubles on the delivery. I wonder if corporations are realizing what they are doing by bringing in so call leaders from out of state who are there for the purpose of just training or so it appears that this is the reason. Corporations have no respect for local people except to do the dirty work and train their bosses. As usual I am running around in circle but I have always liked to learn what I am doing. I made the first maps of the country routes by putting townships together and marking out the custimers. That gave me knowledge that as the people called in for wanting paper delivered I could route them to the proper carrier without going thru 3 levels of so call management. There were other ways I found to route these people that saved the Company money along with the idea of growing. I really think that the corporations have forgotten how to grow except thru the stock market. I guess when the Boss just gave orders of items in many cases they really did not know anything about - that way they thought they were earning their money. Degrees are not everything and sometimes learning common sense on the job and class room training by the Company would really increase profits for the company. It might make the employee more valuable than the level the Management tries to keep Employees ignorant. Maybe this is the reason this country is in bad shape Financially that the profit margin has to be so high that there is not any room for employees to make a decent living. From what I read - most top Brass seems to be Crooks and belong in Jail. But they do not there as money talks especially from the top. We cannot continue pay there CEO's the money they are being paid as time seems to say - ( They are not worth it ) as in the end Do these people know their jobs and what it requires to be a Manager of a Corporation. I think that I could go on but the Magazine of Fortune for the DECEMBER Issue brings on more questions than it does answers. I have seen many operations of different companies and they all seem to go same direction. Enough said - Don
