oil prices and transportation

There is an article in the Foreign Affairs magazine about high prices for oil that is good for production.(I think that is what it is about ). There was much information about the developement of oil production not being up to snuff. In the article where the government controls all the research and developement there does not seem like any knew developement. Of course they are trying to control prices for their own benefit. Most huge corporations try to do the same thing. One of the items is lack of developement of new refineries in the US. The reason for that is simple-the companies do not want to control the polution that the american people want so that we can breathe properly,etc, and of course cheap labor over seas. There are so many items to talk about but one of the things that brought tnhis article to mind is - that which made the economy work here was a couple of things- high wages,cheap gas that gave cheap transportation. Without those things - the ecomony has to decrease and the country has go under. I am not sure that I am saying things right. This article is not coming out right. Free enterprise has developed our countries oil reserves but as the oil companies become conglomerates - the economy has to suffer becaause of desire to control production and the high prices for the want of high profits for the stockholders and the CEO's high wages. Since the corporations now control our government in washington and do not have to pay the appropiate share of the Taxes anymore. Things are starting to go through the ceiling. But in the end if the lowering wages also bring about less buying the products- then in the end the profits have to go down regardless of how how the oil prices are?

Bring back the draft

The draft is very important as then this country would realize what foreign adventures would mean to the average population as they would be part of the operation not just a select few and the training of the young would help to keep this country on the progressive action. The draft could be utilized to use people that class room cannot do,, rebuild our projects that does not have the tax money to do or private money. If private industry can not make a profit then they will not build to do anything that is progressive in this country.(Even wars are necessary if the world is going improve health ,science, space exploration etc. It is too bad that young people have to die to get ahead but that is the way it seems to be. In peace time religions have too much influence and with their influence civilization seems to go backward. I am getting off the subject and with the draft we would upgrade our young people and maybe cut the amount of people going to prisons.I think the benefits would outdo the costs especially if skill could be introduced to young people from the idea that projects have to be finished.

jobs etc

I just heard where people are being given ,Part timers, given shorter hours. I realize industry want to make profits but just think if the rich were being taxed then they would not want to make huge profits.. A good example is Knight Ritter corporation was making 15 to 25 percent but some of the stock holders wanted to make more. If these companies keep cutting employees then there is not any people to buy their products. The cycle is such then this country can not survive. The local taxes keep going up but if the people are not making it how can they pay the local taxes? Credit cards are not the answer to buying products because in the end they have to be paid off. Are we going to have debtors prisons again? WE need to get rid of that bunch in washington- but where are we going to find leaders that can and willing to do the job. I know Clinton had his sex problems but he found people to do the job. Remember to get Clinton the republicans had to spend 150 million dollars or so I have read it somewhere. It looks like we need another sex fiend if this country is going to survive.

Censoring of Bush

I see where the Senator from Wisconsing is talking about Censoring the president. I guess they can not get a resolution thru the Congress about impeaching the president so they will go aftter another tack to get Bush to obey the law. The tact is that we should not impeach a president during wartime. That has been the republican congress's idea top promote their evil ways against the American people. Big business controll the mass media and as on Cable this evening - the commentator kept knocking the person being interviewed out of saying anything when it came to saying anything Negative to Bush even including quoting the percentages about people's attitude toward Bush. How can their be free press if the mass media tries their best to protect Bush. It reminds me of the mass media campaign against Clinton that did not work after congress and the republicans spent 150 million or so and could only get him on sex. ( The figure may not be completely but that is what I heard was spent trying to get Clinton. )The mass media keeps repeating that we need The republicans in power to protect us. If that is not a political campaign to keep the Republicans in power then I do not know what it is. The grass roots are slowly getting to Republicans even with the mass media trying to cover up Bush's lies etc to help him become a dictator.

Oratory Contest under American Legion

I went to a state oratory contest and also to a district contest( there is a lack of candidates in the district.) The winners get a some money to go to college. We had 5 young people at the state contest and 3 out of 5 young people were outstanding. The other two were outstanding in the sense that it takes courage prepare for the contest. It is very difficult to get schools to help get the young people to participate. ( Remember our grade schools are such low level that they do not prepare our young people for high school. The reason is our grade school teachers are mind analsist's and everything is tuaght in very small steps because of the lack of knowledge on the part of the teachers as on a grade school principal told me once that they do not have to know anything to (teach?) lead our young people to learn. ) (The young people that had participated, had gone through some legion programs where it looks like they had learned leadership experience- from Cadet law to boys and girl state. These programs require the young people to work on their own and that is not what the average public school teaches our young people. I guess I am writing my frustration as look what this country is missing in future leadership and or scientist's etc. Maybe there is a need for a different kind of counselors in our high schools to help promote our young people in the right direction. I think we now hire Psycologist and socialists and these people are not trained on the type of experience that our young people need to enter life. These people are trained on people's emotions, but to help these young people get the skills that are needed in the real world,there is a need for say retired Engineers,scientists, biologists, etc to consul these young people what is needed in training etc.Psychology is not everything.

Leaks from Cnn 3-5-06

Leaks from the federal Government must continue if this country is going to survive as a democracy. Since we do not have a congress that does not look out for our interest- then who is? Last night on a interview with Pat Buchanin and ex senator from South dakota on a show that came from Pacific College discussing politics Buchanin came out and since Bush is continueing breaking the law then he should be impeached. For instance -Bush will not release papers from the Ragan administration that is long gone in time because it might embasrras the republican Party as it would show that maybe he was not such a great leader after all. Pat Buchanin also said we do not have a congress that represents the american people and it is proving that it is right that they do not represent the american people. What are we going to do. It is time that the elections were paid for by taxes so that any person can run for congress if we are going to have a demacracy. Everything is big business and secrecy from the American people. Is security worth the destruction of the American people? I stopped at a garden show and bought a watch from one of the vendors and something came up about Bush and the conversation came around about impeaching Bush and the vendor said that then we would have Cheney, What would be the difference is that I think we have Cheney now. I just do not think Bush has enough intellligence to be president and I suspect that Cheney is doing the thinking now. It seems like Bush does not know what is going on period. Buchanin brought several things that I have brought up before- Trade deficit,huge growing national debt, Spying on American people with out authorization and the list could go on. Is this what the ameican people want in a presidency. The list of problems could go on with Bush as president.

Is Pres. Bsh a :Liiar

I wonder why the people do not wake up and demand a special prosecutor to investigate the our president on what he knows or is he incapable of being a leader. if Cheney is the acting presideng then he ought to be investigated. They have lied to the american people so much since he has been in office. They have lied about to american peopl about our finnancial affairs that it also should be investigated. Is there anybody in the Republican party that is willing to work for the american people. So far they have sold us out. It seems like Bush white house knew about the affects of the hurricane and refused to do anything about claiming ignorance when bush reported to the american people. Is it bad to think about impeachment for the sitting president and vice president(since he is supposed running the Federal Government) People wake up before the republicans destroy our country completely. Maybe he is trying to be another Reagan who had everything wrote out for him as what he told the American people. Bush is going into deficits like Reagan did. Is this the kind of presidents that Republican party gets elected to the presidency. I am old enough that it will not affect me but it sure can effect our children, grandchilden and it does not make any difference what gender,race ,or religion etc. I went to a lecture on the Moslem religion and asked a question - why does not Arab governments allow freedom of religion? I am not sure I received an answer but this is true of any state sponsored religion of any country. It seems like the any Mass religion is afraid of freedom of religion.This above is off the subject but I just happen to think of it.
