Who is supporting the Republicans

I notice on a couple of channels on cable there a bias toward the democrats especially H Clinton to try to keep her from being elected. What is really the problem is simple big companies like the so call merge between Delta and Northwestern. I remember years ago when the management went private and put Northwestern in debt- I believe the figure was 3 billion dollars and they have never been the same since. I think they have tried to make the public and the employies pay for the Airline going private. It is impossible for our so call private companies to do the right thing. The CEO's are not normal employies that came up thru the ranks and learned the business but these CEO's were apparently stock brokers that did not understand the companies that they took over except to be paid millions of dollars for destroying the units that they took over. The average CEO just like the Republican Party is so against the American people and is trying to just take care of the stock holders and make a fortune themselves. Just look at what Bush has done to this country. The huge debts that Bush has put on this country is I wonder will ever be paid for. I remember the Savings and Loan scandle that cost I believer 50 billion Dollars during the Regean presidency. Regean was a great speaker but in reality what was he ? Come to think about it - here in Kansas they are trying to sell to public on two new coal electric plants. the problem is most of the electricity will be exported but Kansas will have to furnish Water that is in short supply along with the polution that it will bring to Kansas. Big business does not care what they do to the local economy and is all they are interested in making huge profits and pay their CEO's hugh salaries. Come to think about it - the former CEO of American Airlines said if the Airlines to going to make it back - they will have to bring back regulat and not let the CEO's run wild especially since most them do not know what they are doing. politicians and names

I just talked to my daughter and she brought a point that I had thought about for years. One is that the Vice President's name ought to be brought up when they run for the office of the President. A good example is the fact that Bush had to use a man name Cheny because he did not have the experience or knowledge to be President. When we voted for Bush and he had to had a man name Cheney for Vice President that he did not have the knowledge or experience to be President. We have a man running on the democratic ticket that apparently is in the same boat. So we need to know who his vice President will be along with the Atty General will be along with the rest of the Cabinet. In other words we should have some idea what kind of Government we would have under the individual candidate etc. Even to the point maybe we ought be able to vote on these people. We supposedly have an open society but when we do not know who the Cabinet is going to be and what kind of policy will be represented by the man that we elect. Maybe we ought to go back to the method that in the Presidential election - no one with the votes would be President and no 2 with vote would be the Vice President. At least the people would not be left out in the cold with out the knowledge of what kind of Government we will have under the elect and there would be somebody in the cabinet that would represent the other side. I am not sure that what I am saying but what Bush has pullled on the American people would sure give up a better Government. Have fun - Don

nation's water lines

I saw in the paper what is happening to our water lines. It seems like according to the article that it take 250 billion to 450 billion dollaers to bring our water lines up to snuff. I think that it is impossible for us and the world to go to war anymore. Between the infrastucture and the space program. If we are to survive as a civilization then some ideas has to change like no more getting excited and going to war. Churches need to pull in their horns and decide how to get along with one and another. Where is the money coming thatr will pay the bills? Just think if our Poor thinking president has not gone into Iraq what could be happening to this country. There are so many things needed in this country that wars and stupid relations between Churches that these things should be a thing of the past. Power over people should be a thing of the past. even some of our so call billionaires could help with the infkrackture. Oh well this is only a start -Don

Women and Kids

What is it about single women and their children that winds up killing themselves and their children. The does not seem like there is a day when it is not in the news to where some gal has killed herself and her children. I realize marriage is important but what happens when the marriage get broken up and the woman finds herself alone with a child or children. All the psycologist in the world does not seem make a difference. Our grade school teachers are trained on low grade Psycology and Social Psycologogy and they do not seem to do the jobs in our grade sch00ls. I do not know if these women get any treatment before they kill themsleves along with their children. I have seen where devorsed Fathers have kill their own children and themselvles over the fact that they have lost their children regardless what the courts say about they are part of the bringing up of the children. I am not sure of what I have written but there seems to be a lot of confusion in this world about what is going on -- Don

difference between Rublicans and Democrats

In the opinion page in this morning's paper - there was a thought about who spends the money and what happens to our national (included in this articlel)debt. It is simple at least present time. Who is raising our debt from litterally zero to what is 9 trillion dollars. It is the Republicans and it started with Ronald Reagan the great communicator so he apparently lied to the American public too besides our Present President Bush. I think people have the wrong impression about the Republican party and the hot air they give the American people, or even the lies that is put out by these people. Of course our news media is own by big business so the TV is filled with commentators that push the Republican line. Just the reporter I believe her name was Miller that worked for the NY Times and lied to the American People about the War in Iraq. I saw a commentator put 3 days on John Kerry when it turned it was not true in trying to Sell George Bush for Presdency. This is only part of the legacy of the Republican Party who has sold out to big business and the crooked legistlators in Washington. Maybe the Democrats have sex problems and it turned out some of the Republicans are in the same boat but lat least they have not tried to make the American Peoples to slaves etc and they did work on the infratructure and kept and kept our economy going . People have got it wrong at least in the opinion line todays paper- it is not the democrats that is destroying this country and spending all the mondy - putting us deep in debt as the facts prove it is the Republicans.What is the odds on anybody reading this but I notice in writing these articles that seemed to a change in this philosphy but is pretty late to get things turned around and finding people for Governmant. Iraq war

I see the General Patreses( spelled wrong) said that he did not want a drop off of troops. The problem that I see it is simple - we can not afford going to war any more. We export all our jobs to India, etc and if there is not people working - how can wars such as we are going thru in Iraq be paid for. IOU's does not keep the economy. A so call volunteer army under the control of the President is not the answer. The people are not involved any longer. Yet the people has to pay for it. I once belonged to the Air Force Asoc and there was a push to by Boeing to buy more B'2s. I was at a dinner and told the people eating at the table with me that it was too expensive and we really could not affor the airplane. It would have been nice to buy more of these planes but we no longer can afford the military budget. These fancy airplanes really cost too much. Do we really have an military besides the 150 thousand troops that are in Iraq. These kids are good but can we afford the goals set for Iraq by the Present administration. Eventually all this has to be paid. Why think what happened to the Roman emplire when all the people became slaves and the professional miltitary ran the the Government. We need to get the troops out of Iraq before there is not a Military. We are living on ( I think that is right ) of the National Guard troops to furnish the troops but that was never the purpose of the Guard and when needed in The US- are not there. The fancy equipment costs so much then how is it paid. I can see the money spent for the Space program because there is gain for the people of the US. We gain in the Health industry and Science but even there we are pricing ourselves for the average person which means the American people can not progress. Not to deviate from the subject but industry is so far in Debt that they can not hire and train people. So what is going to happen to the good old USA. I am starting to ramble so better quit. Don

public school system

here locally there is a proposal to run another bond issue- I believe 350 million dollars. We just got thru I believe 285 million and now they want another. Why cannot the school system actually live with in their means. The school system is such a termoil and very low standards that the students might as well stay home. l saw article in the paper where with out teacher college graduates that the teachers do not know much of anything and does not know how to get it across to the students. I hope the public wakes up does not allow how property taxes to keep going up and we get nothin for the money. And not to change the subject went to a dietisian today and the first thing they do is ask about the family. They are so interested in blaming the family for one's problem. Especially in my case - I happen to be 82 years and if I have survived this long - what good is my family's problem as to whether my problem is a family tradician or not. I do not understand why the medical profession keeps asking about family history especially when they have to treat the troubles that the individual's has. I have seen it being done to many people and in the end they seem to forget how to treat the person involved. It reminds me of a relative who is very heavy and what did the doctor tell her that it was her family troubles. Enough said Have a good day.

Bad presidency of Bush

I cannot believe in my heart why Bush has not been impeached . When he took the oath of Office - which is to uphold the office of the presidency - he sure has not done this. He have gone out of his way to lie to the American People and for some reason to try to destroy this country. I can not understand how Bush can do this. Here is a man who was born in this country and whose father was a president yet what has been his actions since taking over The presidency. Is there any politician that cares for this country and will tell the American People the truth. The Republican Congress has gone along with our lying President and shone how imbecelic they have been. Is it not posslble they need to be impreached too. Clinton has his sex problems and some trade policies that did not work but he did not want to destroy the American People like Bush has done. Why have not the American People gone out in the streets and complained about this president. I can not believe how ignorant the American people have become- of course I can not blaime the people since Our public schools have lost their way as far as educating the American people. I do not understand where the corporations gone. We need a man like Teddy Roosevelt that would enforce the law and not sell out the people to the crooked CEO's. There is a need to change Wall Street so that the American People have a chance to live again. There seems to only one man on TV and that is Lou Dobbs that is willing to fight for the American People. Again why has not Bush been impeached along with some of his Cronies and sent to Jail where he belongs. Enough said. Don
