Water Problems in the US -new orleans etc

I was reading about the water problems in Venice and Holland. In order to survive they have to keep pouring in money in keeping the sea out. We have an admistration in Washington that wants wants all local problems paid for by local governments.The problem is that as wages get lower and lower and higher local costs keep increasing there comes a time where there is not any local money to do the job. With the system now in Washington where the republicans keep trying to lower taxes on corporations and the rich, deficit getting larger and larger( more interest and they blames the social security etc when they have used that money to pay other bills there is not money for water problems on the coasts like New Orleans and some of the corporations doing the work as it turned out did not do the proper work on the levees. ( when these corporations do not do the work and take short cut- then the CEO ought to go jail not be paid off with higher wages.) It is time when politicians do what some of them are doing like Delay then they need to go to jail and Bush needs to be IMPEACHED. The republicans tried to impeach Clinton over sex (150 Million dollars) yet we have an administration that keeps on not doing the job that they took an oath to do -when are the American people going to learn? The federal government has to start honestly take reponsibility even though it is called being a liberal- that is what we need in this country. This is kinda long.

college graduates ?

I noticed in a couple of places about the percentage of College Graduates that could read for knowledge. Can it be believed that 41 percent of college graduates cannot read for knowledge. I will say again as I have said it before. Our grade schools are useless . our grade, so call teachers just do not know anything so how can the so call teacher lead ( not teach grade school students. This shows up in High school and college.This tells us that most college degrees are worthless not even worth the paper that the Degree was typed on. One time I read where the average Grade school teacher can not do simple fractions. One Principal from a grade school said that the grade school teacher does not have to know anything. People wake up before this country is gone. All the money in the world will not change grade school levels. This enough so investigate local condition

inspection of Airplanes

The airplane that went in off the Florida coast - an old seaplane reminds me of something is wrong today. They have a system of inpections that in my opinion really does not work. I remember when I worked for NWA - they had old DC3s amd every so often they actually used to overhaul the planes and literally made new planes out of them. Today to get by cheaper- they come up with a system of inspection that reworked certain area. After so many flying hours there should be a an actual overhaul system to remake then into a new airplane if they want to keep flying old airplanes. This reminds me of the crack up of firefighting airplanes that drop water and chemicals on the forest fires. I believe that several of those planes have been lost due to the age and maintenance of the planes. I do not believe there is a cheap way of doing maintenance that honestly works. I believe that 20 people lost their lives on the seaplane that went down. From what I read the wing came off from cracks in the wing that was not spotted. Eyes can not spot everything. This also reminds me of a company that I worked for - in repairing electronic equipment- there comes a time old planes,etc i do not believe cannot be reworked on a basis of inspection to be useable. Cheap labor is not the answer eithor. There is a growing problem in this country in that the CEO get huge wages,bonuses etc yet the trend is lower wages on needed skilled workers. We have a one party government in Washington that is trying to push that program. People please wake up.

china's aviation work

There is an article in Wichita Eagle Dec 19- about aviation work in china. The point is whether the American worker sees the point. The American worker is competing again the equivalent of Slave Labor. This engineer makes equivalent of 500 dollars a month. The Company furnishes her with an essentially a studio apartment. Is this competing with an American worker who wants to live with decent housing. Is she able to buy a ticket on an airline and travel. How can the American Standard of living compete with slave labor. Maybe if we went to all automation of production with out any labor involved that we can compete. Yet there is an administration in Washington that does not want to tax the rich and is trying to lower wages in this country so that Corporations can make more money. The corporation can sure buy our Government and the people vote like fools against their own interests. I admit that our standard of living based on high local wages and cheap products from China based on slave labor.

College education

We have an amazing system of education. We are now finding out that 30 to 60 percent of College students can not read or decipher books. How can they graduate from Colloge. Yet our local public schools want to tax,tax, and tax more. our so called teachers have degrees but in what- finger painting. Why don't we throw out our so call teachers and start from scratch. When I was a kid- very few grade school teachers had degrees. We had hour classes,we had real history geography, etc in grade school. I had Latin in the 9 th grade yet today it is barely a college course.The courts in Kansas have demanded that we pay more taxes for the schools that are not any good. I do not care how strong the teachers union is - something is wrong,wrong, and wrong. What can this country do to make our schools into something that produces results. Money is sure not the answer. They tell me that the standards for grades are now 60 for a "C" when I was a kid that was flunking. I could go on but people please investigat and fight to do something about our country. And according to latest statistics it sure can not be college graduates because figures are coming out that say -college students can not read.

Republican and taxes

I was talking with a die hard republican today. He made a comment that I would have to start paying taxes. It seems like the republicans lowered the figure that people would have to start pay some taxes. The figure quoted to me was that it went from 100 thousand to 60 thousand. if I did not pay any taxes but if I cleared 60 thousand then there would be a tax that I would have to pay. The Republicans are good at trying to tax the little guy and let the rich get off with out paying taxes. I can not understand why people vote Republicans into office. There was another comment in a newspaper that said Kerry- and Edwards can read but Bush is unable to read books. The one thing the Republicans are good at is buying votes and then they have to payoff after they get into office. Is it not wonderful how the American People are paid back for voting republican. It is a great life.
