War on drugs

Charles Pearson who writes editorial in Active Aging wrote an editorial titled -- War on Drugs a futile effort-- the ideas came from Leap - www.leap.cc. A 4 step program 1. end drug prohibition - legalize all drugs- put it under rules like the alcohol retail - licensed drug dealers.2. The US government should import the drugs or produce them.3.Give free maintenance doses of drugs to adults requesting them- removing the underworld and the profit margins, 4. Offer hope instead of prosecution. The courts do not offer anything constructive and it does fill our jails.Leap tel no 781 393 6985 or 27 Austin Road, Medford, Ma 02155. Just think we have spent close to a trillion dollars and it has just made it worse. it is too bad that politicians just do not seem to have it. It is easy to spend somebody's else's money. Just like going to war they do not have to die and of course the money that pays for it comes from somebody's elses pocket.

The problem with President Bush

I wonder will president bush learn what it means to be a president for the whole US. Bush is so busy fighting for Big business that he forgot when he took the oath of office and that he was going to be president of the entire US. The republican party with their control of the Congress also took the oath that they would represent the entire population not just big business. Actuall this has been going on for a long time. I guess who ever pays for their political comapaigns gets to controll the government. Of course big business is controlling our media and our media is also being used as a propraganda machine for those that big business wants in Washington. Media is starting to stand up a little bit but it is pretty late after the Republicans has destroyed our country. If there was a school system that actually taught students knowledge besides playing psychologist we might have a public that would demand that troubles could be solved. Somebody said of the other day that if the minimum wages were bought up to inflation rate things would change of course the figure would be -I was told 22 dollars per hour. With the republicans controlling the Government and trying to make the people slaves this will not happen. This medicare prescription drug plan is set up to make the senior citizens to die off as they will not be able to afford the drugs. Actually a thought I do not think our medical profession is trained on the feed back system of the human body consequently all they know is drugs and hoping theat it will work. I better quit while before I keep on rambling. Life is quite an experience.

Defense Sec defense by Bush

It is strange that so many ex general are downing Rumsfeld now comes a general Franks that said Rumsfeld not like a dictator to the military. It seems like I have heard in some meetings that was on tv discussing various subjects that he litterally told the people there how he was going to have the military and how they were going to do it. Everything that Rumsfeld said was going to take place -it did- except it was not very good and it did not work. Something came to mind the other day about Carter- and it seemed like his approach about future military equipment is what we are using today. Anyway back to Rumsfeld - what can I say- Bush was the leader in the failures that are being accomplished and all Rumfsfeld did was to try and make it work. It really looks like they are trying to cover up for Bush and make Rumsfeld the fall guy. It reminds of a boss that I worked for always finding ways that the sub ordinates took the fall for him. Why should the Bush family get covered up- if he is the guilty one then he should take his own fall.

Quitting of Rep Delay

I see by the morning paper that Rep Delay is quitting. The republicans could no longer cover up for him. Bribery is bribery no matter which political party and his case he was trying to make big business the boss of this country. Delay was one of the backers of the tax cut for big business and of course the rich as he did not care whether this country went under financially. He was paid off pretty big. I hope it is not too late to undo the damage that he did to this country. We are paying pretty big for voting in big oil people to lead our government. and I understand even our sec of State came from that group. Do not these people understand when they take the oath of office to defend the constitution and the laws of this country that when they sell out to certain groups of people they are lying about swearing to uphold the constitution that they really are saying they belong in jail. I do not know where we are to find the leaders that this country needs if we are to survive as democracy that has freedom for people. History will pass judgement on the man and that is all there is.
