Republican party and the people

There was a letter to the editor about the so call Conservatives and what they actually accomplish and it was the destruction of the averager to be a slave or even worse like the Haitian People where there were no education, bad buildings- no inspection, no health care and no emergency set up. Is this what the average Republican wants to be- I do not think so but that is what they get when people elect Republicans. Do people want Social Security and Government programs like Highways. I think they do but do not realize what they are voting for. It reminds me of a Story about Republican Governour of Minnesota who supposedly turned down money for the Highway Bridges and guess what happened - the Bridge on highway I believe 35 fell apart. So then the State of Minnesota had to get a special bill thru Congress to get special money for the Bridge. I believe 17 people got killed and they were lucky that more people did not get killed. Is there something wrong with these Republican Governors ? There is a story about the Republican that is running for the Governor"s position that wants do the same thing. Remember if the Rich do not pay then our Governor can not do his or Her job and keep the the education, etc going to keep the Average person out of Poverty.It is a proven fact that if the Government does not tax the Rich and the powerful - Recession comes and there is not money to pay the costs of keeping peorple going and the that are necessary to public maintenance. If the average person is poor how can these people pay taxes. Remember the history of the Roman empire as they increased taxes on the poor and the rich got richer then what happened to the average person- they became slaves, peons etc. Well enough of this - Don

big corporations

I wrote a note to bbc about getting their e mail and in the note about the fact that Big Corporations are destroying this country. The top brass of these Corporations are giving themselves big bonus's. Even the corporation that have taken Government Loans are trying to pay themselves Bonus's when they helped put the Corporations under. The people in Congress also are paid off by these people. I see where the Supreme Court has voted 5 to 4 on letting Corporation put in unlinited amount of money in Political Campaigns from their treasury with out the Approval of their Stockholders. Supposedly the money Corporations are going to put in the Political Campaigns come from the Consumers that buy their product. Somebody in Congress says the Government pay for the Polical Campaigns. I just do not know where this country is going but it is destroying our freedom.

writing to Congress

If you write to a congress- look at what is returned - a form letter is returned. Do they ever really answer the letter. There is a real problem in that the real problem in this country is that large corporation buy one another with debt expecting the Emloyees and the consumers to pay the debt that the top brass of the corporation put the corporation into . This sentence does not make sense. The first time that I recognized was with Northwest Airlines that the CEO's put the Airline into private and put the Airline 3 Billion dollars in debt. If you look at the Airline- they never came out of it. They blame the Unions for the companies going under but even with exporting the jobs - these companies are never able to get out of debt. But somebody ought to investigate truthfully when companies buy one another out. Even locally a good example is thwe KGE and the local paper. I hear the local paper is exporting jobs to sinapore or India. When is this country going to wake up and put some rules on these corporations that they can not keep buying one another out by going in debt. Is it about time there ought to be some rules on these corporations that they can not do this thing. anyway I wish somebody would read this and do something about this situation . Don

a meeting and troubles

This mess in Washington with the Republicans refusing to work with the Democrats and hang the American Peiople. and the American people just do not realize it. I gather from some of the Broadcasts that they are getting their way and taking care of the Health Organizations. We need a build up of the Infrastructure so bad as it can be seen we do n ot have any passenger service now. Unless they change the tax structure and charge the Huge corporations and rich individual more taxes - there is not any way that we can pay for the structure. For instance there is a Senator from Kansas that is supposedly getting 500k for subsidies. He has never voted for anything except to take care of the rich. Just think some of these Organization that people belong to are usually run by 2 or 3 people and the devil with rest of the people. I do not think that people even realize what is going on. Oh well as old as I am I gather there is not much I can do about the troubles in my organization the Federal Government or the State governmenEnough said - American people wake up before it is too late and we no longer have a Democratic form of Government. People should remember what happened to their liberty i n the Roman Empire. Oh well luck -Don

People in Care homes

I was ask to make a presentation to a group of Verterans and there were some ladies in the crowd and it was interesting. I think they need to treat the older people more like adults instead of children. How can these older people keep their minds going if they are treated like Children less than 5 years. What I presented was an article in the this month's Legion Magazine about Rocky Briar who was a half back in the Glory years of Pttsburg Steeler- I believe they won Super Bowles and I think that it was in arow- I am not sure but anyway the article talked about His experience while in Vietnam as a Draftie. Of Course if we are going to go to War then the whole country needs to be involved and People needs to drafted into the Military. Back to the article - Rocky talks about his experience in the Military. It told how his unit got shot up and he was one of the wounded and his comrades carried him. It got to the point that he was going to be left behind and a hand (black hand ) reached down and carried him to the camp. The man said Soldier you will not be left behind. In the pro's there are many black hands who work with the rest of the team and carry one another out. Rocky went on to say that Civil Rights was the next thing that happened. Isn't time this country pulled together and instead of like the Republicans who seem to work for Big Industry and every one start working for the whole team - that is the average American Citizen. I must have done something right because I was asked back and I will go. Everyone have a Happy New Year and hope that this country learns how to putt together. Don.

Ideas about populations, jobs etc

I got the new issue of Foreign Affairs quarterly and in reading several articles so far it has brought questions to mind. 1. One things that Brezinki brought out was that Israel should go back to 1967 Borders. It must be remembered what Brought Israel to the position was the history of the world against the Jews. The Holacost is brought to mind as one of the key ingredients that helped build Israel and of course the constant wars by the Muslim nations for the destruction of Irael. Does the wars with Israel actually help the people in these countries. It apparently does not as look at Pakiststan, Afghanistan and the rest of the countries. In one of the articles in the magazine was the poor uneducated people in these countries. They have many children but no education for upgrading the population. These countries pour a lot of money in teaching of the Koran which does not seem to help the general population.
2. as an after thought just look at the grade schools in the US and see where the kids are going and it is definetly downward. Our grade school teachers are trained in Psycology and Sociallogy instead of History, Geography, Penmanshiip and of course Math. They keep coming up with the idea of letting the kids go where they go instead of leading the students into higher level. It always reminds me of a situation with my daughter. She said Daddy would you please help me with an Algebra problems. So I showed her step by step how to get the Answer. Of course I did not know what was wrong until she came home and told me that her Daddy was dumb. So then I discovered that in few pages there was the approach that I had done. What made it difficult for the Student to learn was the steps are so small, it does not make sense.
3. The writers keep hollering about not enough working workers to support the people on Social Security yet what is the Industry doing but laying off everyone that is 50 or older as the cost of Medical care goes up. But think the the skill and education of these people are lost to the industry and there is not any replacement. These companies ship the jobs overseas to lower class workers. Just think that if our schools were upgraded by a simple expression of ( YOU WILL DO IT INSTEAD OF POOR BABY ). Grade school teachers says they are baby sitters but who fault is it.
4. As an after thought if the Churches got out of education and just stuck to Morality of their people, I wonder if this country and Rest of the world would be better off. Religion is needed byt not in the way it is used such as the Muslim and Orthdoxy of any religion. I guess I have rambled enough as the ideas come out of my head but what do they mean or are they useful. Don

A rumor on Senator Brownback

I do not know if it is true but it might be investigated as to how much the Senator draws on subsidies from his farm land. I read somewhere he is getting 500 k everyyear. Should the Subsidie be strictly for small farmers. It would sure help this country and allow the small guy to grow bigger and pay his bills. There are too many rich people that are subsidied by the Federal Government. As I have written before- if there is not something done about big corporation and rich people being brokened up - We will lose our economy and our freedom. I guess the average person just does not know about our country. Don
